DESCRIPTION:
Switzerland for Heeren Bros. & Co., Pittsburgh, Penn., "Ideal Excelsior" interchangeable cylinder music box, 6 tunes using a 9 inch cylinder playing on a one piece comb with 60 teeth, mechanism with Jacot's safety check and speed control in a lidded oak case with molded base and top, applied oak ornament on the front, and retailer label under lid. The lot comes with four 9 inch cylinders which come in a matching oak case.
CONDITION:
The two wood cases are in excellent condition and were probably restored in the past. The cylinder storage box lid has a long seam where a glue joint is located. The nickel plated movement and cylinders are clean and bright. The nickel plate has worn off of the plaque with patented dates on one edge. Retailer label is a bit faded. Comb is stamped with "ST" or "TS" trademark.
